In a very first time, pass your hand on the tread of each tire. Remove any broken glass or grit that may eventually cause a puncture. It appears on 30% of the belt; the tire must be changed so as not to be the victim of regular perceptions or at worst to fear a burst of the tire.

Make sure the derailleur is working properly. A suspicious noise is heard: the chain grazes on a pinion. Turn the derailleur screw a half-turn in one direction: check if the noise persists. In this case, turn the screw an additional half turn. The noise continues? Then rotate the screw one, and a half turns in the opposite direction. If the problem is not resolved, proceed with the millimeter screw in millimeters in either direction. On some bicycle models, instead of a screw, there is a lever system. Eventually, the noise must have disappeared. Then rotate the rear wheel on each sprocket for an overall check. Proceed in the same way with the front derailleur: turn the chain on each crown. Moreover, a check of the tread of each tire is not superfluous.
Particular attention on the wheels
Also, it should be monitored that the wheels are not obscured. The rear wheel can be veiled because it is more stressed than the front wheel. You have the material, the necessary fingering … no worries you can intervene. If necessary, consult a professional. In principle, an annual intervention, as part of the review, should be sufficient. By lifting the seat when passing on a pothole and the speed bumps, your wheels will do better.
Properly speaking, if you carry out the weekly and monthly checks, there is no normal control unless a proven malfunction occurred during the day. Nevertheless, every evening, position the front and rear derailleur to remove the tension of the cables. It is not prohibited to deflate the tires to two-thirds each night.
